Have anybody had problems with Digital Voice

When contract finished I had to have Digital Voice from BT. I agreed because I was told I wouldn't notice the changeover but it has been a nightmare. Haven't had landline since July 16th and due to BT errors will be without until August 5th. Also may need an adaptor to use phone because of its age. BT must be having multiple complaints with service as there is a recorded message about no ringing tone with Digital Voice you hear when ringing them, Would have gone to another company to avoid this if known. Has anybody else had any problems?

A number of people in our village have been changed over and we change this week. Only one person - that I've heard of - had a problem. They needed an adaptor for one of their phones and had to wait a while for that. Meanwhile their only working phone was upstairs and they couldn't hear it ring.

Our neighbour has a different problem, probably because she isn't here all the time and so didn't have an engineer come and fit the new hub; she just got the box with the equipment in. Bits were missing so they're sending the kit again, but no offer of an engineer. We were informed straight away that one would come.

Another neighbour, in her 90s, has had no problem at all.

YES!!!

Been without landline since May 23rd. Open Reach came last Friday when allegedly everything would finally be up and running. After 2 hours - with not being able to have the hub where I wanted it, and the engineer disconnecting my Ring doorbell and ruining my hoover landline STILL not working. And I have a new BT DV phone.

Another 2 hours on the phone - BT now sending me another phone free of charge and another engineer coming this Thursday. This was all confirmed by text and email. 15 minutes later get an email saying my Engineer visit has been cancelled. Another hour on their website chat - apparently the cancelling of the engineer email was a mistake. angry

BT are an absolute shambles of a company clearly run by a bunch of incompetents. With Open Reach coming in at a very close 2nd.

BT cancelled my order because of ‘porting’ problem but forgot to tell me. Then recommend I go to Highland Broadband! They are installing tomorrow.

I have a lot of friends who are with BT find it has been an hassle. A few of my friends have cancelled their BT contract and gone to Virgin.

I have been under the Virgin umbrella since they started as NTL in the 80's and never had a problem. My landline, internet etc. is with Virgin and they even gave me a free emergency battery handset in case the power went off or the wireless signal was lost. They plugged my old landline digital wireless phone into the router and I have never had a problem. Not had a problem with Digital voice at all.
