We have the ring camera with the bell a live feed without recording.

We are considering purchasing a security camera due to the fact that we have just returned from a holiday to find our side gate had been forced.
The bolt held and although the gate and bolt are damaged we feel very fortunate.
We are not overlooked and if they had managed to get round to the back they could have cleared out home of everything without being observed.
I would appreciate your comments.

I have 2 security cameras, one at the front , and one at the back of my property. My son receives notification and picture of caller on his mobile phone. If someone knocks my door and he does not recognise them, he asks who they are and what they want. it is very useful.

If you have a ring doorbell you can pay a subscription ( think it’s about£35 a year ) and it records. We also have a camera linked to our alarm system. Find a good local security firm to give you advice.

Look at Tapo, good company and you record to a SD card. Just bought a basic one and installed and working in 5 mins, I think some makes are complicated to set up

We have had Hik-vision cameras fitted by a local company. Brilliant quality picture even at night. They send alerts to phone/tablet.

Thank you everyone for your ideas, I have purchased a Rio link which records movement.
