Can you run a search on the pc to include deleted files to find the old ones? You can on MacBook but it is ages since I used MS - I am sure they will be on the disk somewhere.

Thank you, septimia. Meant to come back sooner and say that!

Have you tried taking your Numbers template on a memory stick to see if it will open on the PC in whatever program it has? I expect you have.

I'm forever changing from Mac to PC and find it easier to open Excel and Word on the Mac than Numbers and Pages on the PC.

Maybe there's free spreadsheet you could download, but I expect you've thought of that, too.

I sympathise with your frustration!

My new part-time job is turning up lots of tech issues. Part of the problem is that I get to use a PC with ancient software, and part is that the previous incumbent's files that would have been useful have apparently been scrubbed. Certainly I don't have access to them. I'm not talking anything sensitive/confidential.

I want to make a simple excel template so that I can use it to generate individual forms for various people. No can do because the PC "doesn't support xlts" (I think that's the jargon).

So I came home, opened my macbook and made a Numbers (mac excel equivalent) template and opened some new blank forms from it. This took me ONE MINUTE.

[scream emoji] or, more prosaically: fuxake!!!!!!

Can anyone give me some tips/clues/ways to get round a stubborn PC platform? Please!!
