I have just got a new computer with this bloomin’ Windows 11. Everything has moved about so I am struggling to become used to the new format.

Advice needed please - the screen is so light and the characters a light blue it puts a strain on my eyes. We have tried going into settings to darken the screen which has had minimal affect. We have even put it on nighttime setting and it is still bright 😳.

Is there any techie person out there with a solution please ?

Have you tried searching online for 'Accessibility options in Windows 11'? There are plenty of options available.

Or change the screen altogether- not just the brightness?

There should be accessibility options in settings that may solve your problems. You may find that you need to swap between different options depending on what you’re doing. It’s a bit irritating but once you’ve done it a few times it becomes second nature.

I have changed the settings on my 100 year old mother-in-law's (new last year) computer which is running windows 11.
She found it a big change from windows 7 - but she is used to it now. I think I did it under "display" or "personalisation".

I'm sure it won't take too long.
Good luck.

Thanks for your suggestions. We have been on settings and changed the background but as yet haven’t got anything similar to my Windows 10 view, but we won’t give up. Thanks folks.

We’ve just had a new screen installed and the clever chap doing it has made everything much larger and with a dark background so DH can see it. It’s with windows 11.
