Still useful. We have one.

I have a landline but don’t use it it’s there simply as a temporary emergency if my mobile gave up or was lost or something and I needed to get help

My landline will be staying put, I see it as a back up. Having had the same phone number for around 40 years means very occasionally friends from my past can still contact me. I also get free calls if under an hour.

I still have a landline. Only a couple of my elderly neighbours ever use it. And I'm about to be digitalised apparently.
I'd quite like to get rid of it really.

Some companies no longer allow international calls from landlines as they can’t compete with the likes of WhatsApp - we only found this out after signing with Lothian broadband. As a lot of our customers are in USA we often make calls from home in the evening so now we have to get them to use WhatsApp and our mobile signal is not always good.

With painful hands , I find the handset of my landline much more comfortable to hold for a long chat with my sisters , so not looking forward to the digital era

You could put your mobile on speaker to avoid holding it

Haven’t had one for over 10 years and don’t miss it at all

We still have one and use mainly for chats with friends as I seem to hear easier on a landline a better reception in our area. It’s a free call with our package if I keep the call under one hour!

We’ve still got one, but only use it, like you do, for incoming calls, because outgoing calls are not included in our package any longer.

My BT landline is about to be switched over to Digital voice. I do not pay for inclusive calls so only use it for incoming calls. I kept it partly as it was needed for broadband, which is no longer necessary.
I am now considering whether to buy new handsets to be compatible with the new system or get rid of the landline and just use my mobile.
Do other people still find a landline useful or are you happy without one?
