Amazon trade in

Has anyone used this option on Amazon? I’ve got an old kindle and have put the trade in details through because it offers 20% discount off a new kindle. However I’m wondering if I can send the trade in one then only order the replacement when I’m given confirmation of the 20% discount. Otherwise even if they offer a voucher for the discount it’s going to be too late as I will have paid full price for the replacement.
Hope this makes sense and that someone has an answer.

I'm a bit confused by your post - a "Trade In" option implies that the discount will be applied to a replacement purchase. Are you saying that you don't get the discount code or voucher until they have received your old one?

In which case you'll be without a Kindle for a (hopefully brief) period.

Why don't you ring Amazon's customer services and ask them?

I traded in an old kindle. Amazon immediately take the 20% off the price of your new kindle. If, after receiving your old kindle and examining it, they think your kindle is faulty or too old they will take the 20% back from your account.
