How to unsubscribe from Marks & Spencer online

Just this really. I foolishly gave my email address when making a purchase with cash a few years ago at Marks & Spencer, and am now being bothered by unwanted emails. I have logged in and tried to unsubscribe, but look as I might I haven't found how to. At one point it said that "Unsubscribe" could be found under "Marketing Preferences", but if it's there, I can't see it. Can anyone tell me how it's done? Thank you.

When you open any marketing email it should have unsubscribe from mailing list under the address at the top left hand side, click on that and you should no longer receive emails from them.

To unsubscribe from Marks & Spencer's marketing communications, you can either change your preferences in your online account or use the "unsubscribe" link in emails or the "STOP" number for texts. You can also contact Marks & Spencer customer service.

Hope the advise here helps
I had a sparks card and for me there was no benefit in that. It was a nightmare trying to cancel it ?

We were in Marks one day buying food and were randomly chosen to not have to pay for it. Unfortunately we hadn’t bought much. We’ve always made a point of using our cards since.

Be aware Poppygirl with their recent issues these may be fishing mails.
They have mine and I’ve had one email apologising, that’s it.

I have been with M&S for years recently received just one email explaing what had happened but have never received any others. Beware of any emails and check their validity.

Me too: I have also just had the one explanatory email asking for nothing just explaining that no card or bank details were at risk.

I believe if they were, it would have been in MSM news and information given what to do. M n S have every reason to protect their customers and keep trust.

I've received a strange email saying to confirm my email address and they ( who ever they are ) will send me a substantial refund which is overdue . I'm sure it's from the M and S hacking. The reply email is strange and I've blocked the address from my phone .

Wow Maybe, that must have been a lovely surprise - I agree shame you hadn't more in your trolly!
I am sure many people are happy with their sparks card but I was fed up with all the emails inviting me to take advantage of offers I did want!

There's usually an Unsubscribe option at the bottom of emails. Also, I always check the email address of the senders. It's obvious if the sender is legitimate or not.

Same as Jaxjacky, just the one email. I tried to change my password on the email address I use with M&S. The reset email took ages to come by which time I’d had time to think what a blithering idiot I am to try such a thing with their systems compromised! So I didn’t do it.

Yes, this is the sort of phishing we’ve been warned about.

If unsubscribing doesn't work, just block them as spam mail.

That will do the trick.

Poppygirl Thu 15-May-25 15:54:45

Thank you very much for all your replies. I particularly take note about the warnings of scams.
I know that there should be an "unsubscribe" option, but I still haven't managed to locate it. I'm wondering if I'm dimmer than most. smile

MaggsMcG Thu 15-May-25 17:04:32

Just block it.

RustyBear Thu 15-May-25 18:24:59

If the emails are scams, then unsubscribing from M&S emails won’t stop them - all it will do is stop you getting legitimate M&S emails. Our email addresses are now out there on the dark web market, and the only thing that will stop you seeing the scam messages is to change your actual email and close the account. You can block the address each one comes from, but another will soon take its place.

The m and s card also donates to charity of your choice based on your spend. So even if you don’t always get a discount, a charity benefits.
