Which HP printers have apple print?

On iPad you have two options: AirPrint (the easiest) or Wi-Fi Direct if the router misbehaves. Entry-level HP models usually support both; just check that AirPrint is listed in the specs. I bought a small HP from Cartridge Save since they also sell printers, and their team confirmed by serial that it supports AirPrint and advised which cartridges to use so they don’t dry out if I only print occasionally.

I can understand that Silverbrooks. In fact my brother went into John Lewis a few years ago and expressed horror at the ink prices. The advice from the man who served him was to buy a cheap printer with inks included. He did that and signed up for HP inks which arrive regularly. Only costs him a couple of pounds a month.

On print cartridges, I use Tesco recycled cartridges, which roughly halves the cost of replacement. It’s quite good, because they also give you club points for the empty ones if you take them back. I get about 150 sheets out of a black cartridge, so it’s worth it for me for the convenience, as I only replace the cartridge about once a year.

As Casdon suggests , the cost of ink cartridges for some cheaper printers is disproportionate to the cost of the hardware. I know people who buy a cheap printer and then throw it away when the cartridges that came in the box run out. That seems horribly wasteful.

There are refill schemes available.

It very much depends on how much printing someone needs to do over time. For someone who only does very occasional printing it may be more economical to use library print services. They will charge per page.

It’s called AirPrint for printing from Apple devices. If you look on Currys website they list which of their printers do AirPrint. I’ve got a HP Envy printer/scanner/copier, it must be about 5 years old, it cost me about £40 I think, and it’s brilliant, much better than the bigger, more expensive printers, I use it regularly to print from my iPad. The only caution is that the ink cartridges aren’t cheap, and they are quite small, so it wouldn’t be ideal if your daughter prints a lot.
