No sound

I don't know how long I've had this problem but I've lost the sound from the speaker on my tablet (not phone). My granddaughter sent me a short video and the little icon of a speaker was crossed out as it often is, but when I uncross it, there's no sound, even with the volume button right to the top.
The problem is elsewhere, not just Facebook.
I've looked on the 'systems' icon but can't see anything useful there.
I'm sure there's an easy way to fix it, but I can't see where.
I'm 87 and a bit clueless when it comes to this kind of thing.

Have you tried using headphones? Then you know if it’s a speaker problem

Can you tell us what make and model your tablet is?

It makes the little bing-bong sound when I switch on so I think the speakers are OK.
My computer/tablet is a Samsung Go (not Pro, that model was too expensive for me). It uses Windows 11 and is about 8 years old, I know its time I got a new one but finances are stretched at the moment (where does the money go?).
I think (think) it happened after one of those updates that are automatically set off from time to time, maybe 3 weeks ago.

Oh dear, perhaps it is no longer ‘supported’. Could finances stretch to a refurbished one? They are often much cheaper.

The sound card on my laptop is a bit dodgy but Bluetooth speakers and headphones sork. Do you have a Bluetooth speaker?

Have you tried turning completely turning it off, leaving for a short time and then turning on again?

Work - not "sork"
