Well, we're farmers and in our world 'AI' has always stood for Artificial Insemination (of cattle).
So I find it a hilarious abbreviation š
I was about to say exactly the same ExDancer - I wouldn't want use AI for anything!!
Clunky title I know.
But I am finding that I am using it more and more not just for information but for fun.
So over the past few weeks or so Iāve got it to create a weeks menu themed on a country specifically for 80 year olds with 1400 cals a day.
This week is Italy, but weāve had, French week, British week, and Spanish week.
Now Iāve asked it for a weeks menu based on what the King eats šš. Avocado for lunch or nothing, afternoon tea at 5pm and dinner at 8-8.30 bit too late for us..
It will give you a full shopping list as well.
Bit of useless informationš

Glad to hear it. I wondered if it would give recipes for illegal drug manufacture. Not that I want that. Just pleased that they stay legal.

I cannot provide instructions for illegal activity, and growing cannabis may be illegal where you live. Hereās a safe, general overview for educational purposes:
Cannabis has two main types: Indica (short, relaxing) and Sativa (tall, energizing).
It grows in two phases: vegetative (leaves/stems) and flowering (buds).
Light: Outdoors = full sun; indoors = strong LED/HID lights.
Water & nutrients: Well-draining soil; donāt overwater. Veg = more nitrogen, Flower = more phosphorus/potassium.
Temperature & humidity: 20ā30°C; lower humidity during flowering to avoid mold.
Airflow: Fans or outdoor breeze help prevent mold.
Harvest: Usually 8ā12 weeks; buds ready when tiny resin glands turn milky/amber.
Always check local lawsācultivation may be illegal in your area.

When I went back to uni in my 50s I was so interested to learn about different ways of thinking and whole different styles of thought. It opened my mind to new worlds of ideas I could never have thought of myself.
I find ChatGPT to be an example of a new way of finding and applying knowledge. It's really not restricting or dangerous. It's entirely up to the user how it's used.Aveline, it seems that curiosity is essential for learning new ideas
But not entirely . OpenAI trains ChatGPT not to give info on illegal activities, or print anything that could persuade people to adopt dangerous ideas. I tested Chat on those.
Might come up with new ideas for students to try out?

PS WWM, I fancy that use of AI will facilitate distance learning. Could students could lose out on undergraduate social fun?

Oh BlueBelle you really don't get it. OK stick to what you know. It's all you ever will know.
Thanks for that and I will for now
I like things to be my own ideas warts and all

Imagine if we had this when we were at university!
What a doddle!
I would hope they'd have primed us all with warnings and info how to use it ethically and rigorously. My son is still warning me to make the thing reveal its references and bibliographies
I usually use ChatGPT to get more information about something that is in the news. It is brilliant. I hadn't thought of using it for gardening ideas and so on but I will now. As has already been said, AI has immense potential for good.

Especially perhaps when you recall the company that owns ChatGPT is called OpenAI.

Itās free at the moment, but I bet that wonāt last.
So make hay folks!Chat told me the free edition of Chat makes commercial sense because many so free users go on to buy the paid -for editions .
One thing that worries me about AI is the environmental cost of the 'mother computer' which I understand is the size of a huge block of multistorey flats and consumes more electricity than any other human enterprise. BTW the above is not info from ChatGPT but is merely my own impresssion via my son.Yes thatās right. Apparently it is using masses and masses of waterš³š¤
I trust both of you donāt have thousands, tens of thousands of photos in your cloud that you will never look at again.

I donāt where your son gets the idea of a huge block of multi story flats look at this video to get the true idea.
As for water consumption look and weep.
Our most precious resource is being used for this.

Petra, never quote me! I get the strangest ideas from goodness knows where sometimes.
As far as I know, I do not use it at all, nor do I intend to.
I use Chat GPT mainly for searching, but my son has made some small electronic gadgets using it.
He says it's brilliant; he's made a thermometer, a watch, and other items. It informs you which parts you need, and also does a chart, if needed.
I do have something to lose aveline I would lose my spontaneity, my ability to make mistakes and rectify them myself, I donāt want a perfect āwhateverā , suggested by something else I want it to be my thoughts my rational I donāt want colours or positions chosen or suggested for me the same as I donāt want perfect teeth or plump lips I want to look s bit wonky with a bit of my character showing through
Anyway we re all different but I ll stay as I am for now and look imperfect with a totally imperfect house and a ragingly imperfect garden but all mine out of my head, heart and spirit
My life seems to get complicated enough using just the ārealā intelligence that I have, such as it is! I dread to think what I could do with AI!
There are people ( mainly women) who ask the BOTS for opinions on what they are wearing š±

What is being posted o out on here is a teeny weeny part of AI.
There are wonderful things going on in medicine.
Just take mammograms. The BOT can detect more and quicker than any human.
People who need to worry are those working in data processing jobs. AI will do their job in a fraction of the time.
Note: my fault. Didn't check post over before posting. Mind, soul and integrity still all my own!

Turns out the Earth's round and looks are great. Who'd have thought it!
