Talking books and headphone advice please

If your Mum can manage trips to the library, or you can go for her, they will have talking books on CD. Then a small personal CD player and basic headphones may fit the bill.

Hi everyone. My Mum is poorly sighted hard of hearing and struggles with dexterity-plus an unwillingness to try things!! Can anyone suggest a simple machine and headphones (U.K.) that may be acceptable to her so she can listen to audio books somehow. Many thanks
