Restoring factory settings

I’m selling a reasonable new laptop as it is not longer required. It operates Microsoft Edge. I want to restore it back to factory settings and clear out all of my documents, email account etc.

Has anyone any notion on how to do this? I want to avoid taking it to a dealer if possible and don’t want to sell it with any personal data secreted anywhere. An idiots guide would be greatly appreciated.
