We’ve just been ‘upgraded’ to fast fibre and wonder if anyone else has the same problem with the answerphone system.

For years my handset (the master one) has sat on my kitchen workbench and a red light flashes to alert me to the fact that I have a message.
Now, although I haven’t changed my phones this doesn’t happen. I have to dial 1571. That’s all very well but I have to remember to do it and quite frequently too!
This morning I was on the phone and was unaware that I was left a message whilst I was chatting away.
Luckily when I put the phone down I decided to ring 1571. The message was from a neighbours care line company. Her alarm had gone off. I sorted that out but I could so easily have missed it.
Any great suggestions on how I get a big red flashing light back?

BTW our broadband doesn’t seem to be any faster and the booster seems to flash red (at least something does!) when it’s supposed to be a steady blue.

I have different problems. Mine doesn't give me permission to speak to a couple of friends!

Ours used to cut off our calls. It also switched off the ingoing connection for a week, to name but a few.

Everything - like answerphone that was so simple on the landline became so complicated that we just did not bother as we were on the move. Unfortunately - new home, house without internet so we are going to be going direct to VOIP, Aaaaargh!
