Buying a Tablet

As I will be off on a long haul flight can anyone recommend a Tablet to buy so I can download one or two old films before departure?
I will only use it for watching films while airborne so not for games

If the tablet is going to have limited use, you could try looking on one of the sites that sells refurbished ones. We bought a refurbished iPad from one such site and are very pleased with it. It was much less expensive than a new one.

I agree with Septimia - I have bought 2 second hand Apple iPads - there are loads of other brands available I’m sure, but I’ve always had Apple products. As a matter of fact, I have two, one upstairs and one downstairs , as I can’t be bothered to carry it up and down.

Whenever I flew long haul there were films to watch in the rear of the seats included in the price.

Some of those films I've never forgotten...

I though all long haul flights had films, loads of them to choose from.
I only take my tablet loaded with films or TV on shorter flights.

However, If you want a cheaper table look at a Kindle Fire on Amazon. A new one starts from about £80 up to around £180. My DH has one and he reckons it's good.

You won't need to take your own films to watch on the flight. There's usually a huge choice of viewing included.
Or, in an emergency, you could take a book!

Wonders!
Thanks a msss for all your replies.
Why I want to bring my own is because I believe I am a minority of what I like, i.e. old fashioned films. For example, as I went away to school I would love to watch a film about boarding schools during my sge which I notice there are a few. Or an old musical.
For example

I watched Arsenic and Old Lace, the Cary Grant film during my flight to America. DH enjoyed Where the Crawdads Sing.
There were loads to choose from. For most of the journey though, I read a book.

Sorry we aren't being very helpful. I have a Samsung galaxy tablet. I think it's a 10 inch screen. I've had it for several years now and have found it very reliable. Both sound and picture quality is very good.

I bring my iPad on long flights with a few shows downloaded because you never know if you are one of the unfortunate passengers whose screen won’t work!
