You need to buy an anti virus programme - not via the ads! Will cost about £20 a year but worth it.

This sounds like a fake notification, the permission for which you have given inadvertently when visiting a website.

Try this. It might work.

Go to Google Settings.

Select Privacy and Security.

Scroll down to select Site Settings and then Notifications and Permissions.

Locate where is says Allowed to Send Notifications. Can you see some odd file names? Remove those.

You can also switch on Don’t Allow Sites to Send Notifications to stop this happening again.

I realise its a scam, so I can't see how an advert blocker can delete it - but I'll try .....

What do I do?
I've run Microsoft defender and also my security programme (I've forgotten what its called) but it still pops up and I can hardly use my computer.
Can you help?

I keep getting pop-ups down the right hand side of the screen telling me I nave a trojan and a virus and other nasty things. They arrive with a 'dong' sound and take up about a third of screen space.
Basically they are more or less saying 'buy McAfee security for a special price of £29 and we'll get rid of it'
