Good morning all! DH and I have booked 5 days in Portpatrick, going on Monday, never been before, any tips for what to see, where to go etc.? Thanks x

Portpatrick's lovely! There are some good coastal walks - (a really nice one along from the golf course and towards the lighthouse). Wigtown (not far away) is known as the 'Booktown'. Full of lovely little old bookshops and also has a market but not sure if that's only on a Saturday. Mull of Galloway is a lovely area, too - the lighthouse is open to visitors (hopefully still is), and there's a really nice restaurant there, too! I'm very jealous! We used to go down that way a lot. envy The wee fishing village of the Isle of Whithorn is on the Wigtown road, following out of Wigtown (A746) - that's worth a visit, too! smile

We were there for just one night, back in 1979, but we thought it was a lovely little place. We had a nice walk out around the harbour, and there was a little Caithness Crystal shop, don`t know if it`s still there, I still have the 2 tiny items I bought there, a seal and an angel fish.

Oh heavens! I initially read the O.P. as "Portaprick", thought it was some sort of (ahem) special item for your luggage! blush
