Calling all London Grans. I am coming to London to see Michael Buble on 1st July but we have decided to come a few days early to do some sightseeing. We will be accompanied by our youngest son, DD and two GS so want to go to Legoland and London Eye as well as seeing the palace etc. We are thinking that an appartment may be better than a hotel so I need to know where you think would be the best area to look considering price, transport etc. Also can anyone recommend an agency we could book through as there are so many and I believe some have turned out to be a scam. many thanks

Don't know where to stay but if you've got children (or even not) you must go to Hamleys. It's toy heaven.

seasider Elephant and Castle is considered to be a bit of an 'edgy' area LOL but it is very central and easy to get to Waterloo for trains to Legoland. I have heard good reports about this place, it is brand new www.safestay.co.uk/en/ and they have en suite rooms.

Hi seasider hope you enjoy your trip to London, something nice to look forward to for you all.

Islington is the nicest, safest place to stay in London which will be resonably priced.

I think it may be difficult to find an apartment to stay for such a short time but there may be Agencies on the internet you could try, and you can check their credability with Custom House which is were all business's are registered. Also you could check out any establishments reviews.

I wish I had space for you to stay with us as you would be very welcome, but we have no spare bedrooms.

I do live in London and so if you need any more advise at all just let me know smile

VPQ is absolutly right about Hamleys! there is also V&A Museum of Childhood based in London E2

many apologies I thought I had posted a response! (age I guess) . Thanks everybody for your suggestions. Our trip to London with children is now delayed until later in the year as we are all going to see SIL's family in Sicily and so excited!. I am still coming to see Michael Buble just with DP but this info will come in useful for when we do get there in September/October. I love the look of Safestay. Thank you so much Roseyk for thinking about letting us stay but we are a noisy bunch when we are togethergrin
