Disneyland Paris

Thanks so much, Judthepud! We are staying at Hotel New York too and had already decided to try Rainforest Café. We have planned down to the last detail (even got a map of where all the loos are situated!!) and so all should be well. We are doing the same "shops on the last day" thing as well.

Just back after 5 days with 2 grandsons 6 & 3. We stayed in Hotel New York which was handy to the 2 parks. Try Rainforest Cafe in Disney Village for a great child friendly experience and good but NOT cheap food. Watch out for the croc outside! Main advice: the queues are horrendous at this time of year and for popular rides can be for over 1 hour. Go to Fastpass machines outside various rides and insert your park ticket to book a time slot. Then go and do s'thing else. Good planning will make for a better experience. Be sure to see the light show at the castle 11pm every evening. Stunning! Keep plenty of water with you at all times. Beware the very numerous Disney shops. You could spend a fortune! We promised the boys 1 toy on the last day. This worked in that there was no pestering. They concentrated on deciding what that toy would be. Have fun!

I went when it was the 5th anniversary, we stayed in the pink hotel right next to the entrance. There was a buffet every evening, the food was very good, but as I was not paying I have no idea how much it was! I believe you can eat in any of the hotels even if you are not staying, but it's probably best to check.

I suppose the upside is that you CAN get a glass of wine at EuroDisney, unlike their parks in the USA!

I agree! We took our oldest DGC when we lived in Kent, but fortunately we were able to drive there, which meant we could pop out in the car now and then. The food wasn't great, and the price of a glass of wine (needed after a day in the park) was extortionate.

But the rest of it was such fun. And you can put up with pizza etc for a few days anyway.

We have not been to EuroDisney since it first opened, but our children have been several times with the grandchildren and the outstanding comment is that the food is terrible and overpriced. So much for it being in France! Not sure what you can do to circumvent (I don't think bringing in your own is technically allowed) but I think you just have to accept that this is part of the price you pay to enjoy "the magic of Disney" in your back yard.
