I use Trip Advisor to check out hotels. It's not let me down yet.

Good plan Gally. Apparently there are two hotels named Fitzroy in London. The one I stayed in, well didn't, was called Fitzroylondon. I would hate the other Fitzroy to be muddled with the one I knew as I know nothing about the Fitzroy Hotel.
Why do places have the same name, in such a small area,so silly. I can guess why!!!!

Grandmanorm has just posted about her (brief) visit to the London Fitzroy Hotel. Perhaps we should have a thread naming and shaming hotels not suitable for habitation? I will start with the BELGRAVIA MEWS in Ebury Street, London. It was so disgusting - I was ashamed that such a hotel existed in this country, offering appalling accommodation to visitors from home and abroad and charging over £160 a night for a room which I am sure would be considered unfit for habitation if visited by 'elf 'n safety and, no doubt, the London Fire Brigade!
To counteract this thread and to be fair, I will start another listing highly recommended hotels grin
