Turin in January?

Last year we had three weeks of sunshine in Spain in January, which did a great job in chasing away the winter blues. We can't do anything as long or as expensive as that this year, but are wondering about a three day mini-break in Turin. We can get there quite easily and cheaply in one day by train from here in Normandy, but wondered if anyone had any idea whether it is likely to be OK for weather at the end of January? I have looked at the forecasts, but it isn't quite the same as personal experience. Any advice would be helpful!

Turin can be very cold in January- mind you, so can Florence and Venice.

Yes I guessed it would be cold, but we don't mind cold and crisp for sightseeing. I had visions of the train getting blocked by snow, but OH says I have been watching too much Poirot. grin
We have both been to Florence and Venice, but never to Turin. It means we can leave home after a leisurely breakfast, have lunch in Paris and get there for dinner too.

My daughter worked there for a year & we visited one New Year. It was foggy when we arrived then crisp & clear but very, very cold with the usual problem in Continental climates that, if you dress warmly for outside, you swelter when you go into a shop, museum or café. Lovely city however, though dear Mr Gad did get confused driving at night in town & ended up driving down a tram track!
