I had a stroke about 2 years ago and had my drivers licence taken from me.As addition to this I have osteoarthritris in both knees and have trouble walking. When we have gone on holiday locally I have had my son take me although I feel it may be an inconvenience. But I would like to go on holiday somewhere else in the country but we also have a dog that is part of the family we would like to take too. This plus the thought of us having to take a load of bags then train and getting to where we are going fills me with dread the amount of problems I would have as I cannot stand or walk for more than 5 minutes at a time.
Does anyone have any ideas? I am getting a little bored with Skeggy

Hmm. The dog seems to be the limiting factor DerekY because otherwise you could go anywhere by coach. Many people who are less mobile seem to enjoy this as you get looked after and if you choose a tour you are taken to all kinds of beautiful places. Or you get taken by coach to a place like Llandudno where you can go on short trips or just chill out at your own pace. They look like good value to me.
Also - maybe time to start travelling light and not taking loads of bags. I still find that I usually take more clothes than i really need but for a short break I get everything into a small suitcase with wheels.

There are lots of dog friendly hotels/self catering cottages in this country. Could you go somewhere not too far from home, and use a mini cab firm to transport the dog along with you?
