Hi Glasgow grans I am travelling by car to the Tollcross swimming centre next week to watch the commonwealth swimming heats. Any suggestions for the best place to park ? I know there are some park and ride facilities but struggling to find them. Thanks

You might find this link useful, seasider.

seasider I have found the site Bags highlighted, singularly unhelpful, particularly for Tollcross, which is not covered by the Park and Ride facilities. Looking at a Glasgow map I think your nearest place to park would be the Forge Shopping Centre, as long as you were there early and then by bus to Tollcross. We have been trying to find accessible parking for DH who could not get on a bus or train but only blue badge holders can apply and, being only temporarily 'disabled' he does not have one. He has opted to stay at home and watch on the TV - even that is now uncertain, thanks to the planned BBC strike action. angry

Oh well, so much for trying to be helpful. It's true, I don't know Glasgow very well and we will be getting there by train. Hey ho.

Hope you manage to sort out your problem, G23. It would a be a shame not to use them if you have tickets for your DH.Good luck.

Anyone going to this? www.scottishopera.org.uk/our-operas/14-15/anamchara-songs-of-friendship

DGS has been recruited for the orchestra. (Longer-standing members may remember a link to a webcam at a Uni concert a couple of years ago)

Oh Bags I am not criticising you! It is the correct site which should be helpful but is in fact as much use as a chocolate fire guard. DH's ticket will not go to waste - there is a queue of people desperate to have his seat. As for himself, I think he is looking forward to his CPCGCC (couch potato commonwealth games closing ceremony) - giant TV, snacks and drinks courtesy of SIL, 3xDGC, already in their pyjamas, to share the couch, Scottish flags to wave.

Elegran The concert sounds amazing but we will be in Castlebay on that date.

That's OK, G23, I didn't take it the wrong way. I know you better than that smile
