My last holiday was two weeks in Tunisia which wasn't that good unfortunately.
I Think I'd Like To visit America one day.
I Have a Good Friend There That I would stay with.
I'd to see New York.
for some reason it fascinates me
and I'd love to see what Its Like?
Have you ever Been There?
If So What was it like?
did you enjoy it and would you recommend it as a must see for people?

Our favourite country is Italy. Especially the Italian Lakes. Fabulous climate and delicious food. Gorgeous ice cream too. Not good for the waistline but it sure makes you happy.

We haven't been to any part of America but my BIL did route 66 last year. He thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love America. It's just like in the movies. We drove the Pacific Highway a few years ago, all along the West Coast - Route 101.

Great Britain

WE have been to the U.S 23 times all told over a period of years. The only States we have not seen are Puerto Rico & Hawaii.

Loved every single minute and would not have changed one single thing!

Great country and great people, warm and friendly.

Hope to continue going for a while longer-- who knows !!!

Hope you can go one day

North Vietnam.

Italy.
But I love the USA. You never know what to expect! Some parts are so kitch and unreal. Other parts, Boston for example are refined, in a USA way!
I love the way we all speak English, but sometimes with a different kind of meaning. Roll on October when we visit San Francisco for the first time. I'm already watching old 'Streets of San Francisco' on u Tube. X

Not at all keen on Boston, they seem as though they are all up their own A---s !

I've been to Arkansas and Tennessee, just loved the Southern States. Y'all.... More recently been to Oregon State in the North West, what had been the wild west. Loved it all. Both times we were visiting with friends/family.
Not sure that I'd been wanting to do it as a 'tourist'.
A family visit is very different from a tourist trip.

Cool being a ROAD WARRIOR is probably the best, well for us as I just love driving and there is certainly to get your teeth into over THERE

The next one! Where shall we go this October to fly and flop in the sun?

Scotland for me too.

annodomini Fri 25-Jul-14 15:19:33

Scotland. Then France. I used to go on Ramblers' holidays until my joints started crumbling. Austria was wonderful and so, in different ways were the Balearics and the out-of-the-way bits of mainland Spain. I would like a wee hideaway on Odysseus' island of Ithaca!

I like Kefalonia, Menorca and Turkey the best.

Not that keen on Portugal, Tunisia or the parts of the USA that I've seen (New York and Orlando).

The UK is lovely - so many different types of countryside and places to see. I love the Gower Peninsula, the Sussex Downs, Dorset and Somerset, and the Trossachs. The only - but very important - downside is unpredictable weather.

All of the UK, but Scotland in particular. I also have a soft spot for Turkey and Kefalonia.

Western USA, Ionian Islands of Greece (preferably in a boat), Australia, South Africa, France. Sooo many places - all different. So much to see. How can I settle on just one?

Agus Sun 27-Jul-14 08:48:45

Scotland first then France and The Netherlands. Have been to various other countries but those are my favourite.

We've been to many places. I love Venice and the Amalfi coast, Lakes Como and Garda but having just come back from a week in Santorini, I think that has to go to the top of the list. Stunning scenery, fantastic people, wonderful sunsets. It was just breathtaking. The only downside was the airport on the way back - far too small and heaving.
