Disabled car tax.

I've got my new car, been driving it for over a month and then had a lightbulb moment earlier thinking if it is actually taxed. I went out and checked it and there is no paper circle disc like I had with my other cars which were bought by me but it does have a number on the front screen, like a code. Is this the tax? I checked it on the government website for if it is taxed and it says it is but I need to make sure as I want to go out in it in the morning. Please help a disabled car driver newbie. smile

Just a thought. Road tax payment is no longer left with the car when it is sold. The old owner cashes the tax in and the new owner pays for a years new road fund. Did you buy your car from a garage? If so they will have bought the new disc for you. Some cars are tax exempt now.
For peace of mind I would contact the garage and check. I'm sure that if the DLVC web site says your taxed then you are. Enjoy your driving.

I didn't mean 'disc' as they no longer exist! I meant 'paid it '!

Isn't it funny how we say words we are used to, even if we know they no longer exist? I often refer to the 'GasBoard' even though I know it's British Gas!

I think that if the car is a motability car then the car is taxed, insured and maintained by them.

Does anyone else has 'paid it' sticker ?
I've never seen one, and certainly never had one.
I thought the same kitty

It's a motobility car, beautiful little number she is, white, glistening, carefree, kind, has a good sense of humour and takes me places to dizzying heights! grin

I had no idea until I thought last night. It's just this number on the inside of the windscreen. Maybe that's what they go off now. In the letter I got to say I had been awarded the higher mobility from DWP, there is a leaflet saying about car tax and, as I was doing some paperwork, I came across it. So it made me think. Anyway, it's been on the road for over a month, literally, outside the house and maybe the police have seen it walking around. I'm sure it's fine. Thanks for your messages. Have a good day. smile
