Blackpool - recommendations for activities?

I will be doing pet sitting in the Lake District in early October. As the train fare is paid by the client, I usually take advantage of being 'up North' (I live in Kent) and try to do something interesting. Last year I had a couple days in Glasgow (amazing!) and earlier this year I stayed in Liverpool (even more amazing!!!). So I've heard about the Illuminations in Blackpool but have never been, so I booked two nights in a B&B (which happened to win on Four in a Bed and is close to the seafront) but as a single lady traveller, I wonder if anyone has any specific ideas of things to do? I have noted that there are a couple of casinos that look interesting. I am no gambler, but wouldn't mind a few 50p slot machines just for fun. Would a single woman be terribly out of place? I am quite happy in restaurants and even pubs on my own - I always have something to read so I don't look like I'm scouting for company, ha ha grin. Thanks for any ideas.

An afternoon in the tower ballroom is an idea. Just pleasant to sit and watch the dancers and have afternoon tea?

You could also take bus into Lytham St. Anne.
The sea front there is quite pleasant.
Last time I went it had lovely white and blue beach huts
The RNLI in Lytham is an interesting visit.
I prefer the South Shore in Blackpool
The lights are usually good.
I also think there is an open top bus ride.
There are a lot of Hen and Stag Dos with all that they entail

Blackpool is like Marmight.

I'd also recommend taking the bus into Lytham a lovely little town we had a really nice lunch in an old fashioned coffee/tea shop. Take a tram ride along the sea-front in Blackpool we took the tram to one end of the 'lights' area then walked back its well worth it for the light show.

From my memories of Blackpool, there`s so much to do that the OP will find it hard to decide.
