Where to stay in Cornwall?

Par on the south coast is level. The village is not touristy, it has proper shops pubs etc. The caravan park is Parsands (statics)
and there is a large dog friendly beach. Railway station for a rest from driving.

Can really not Cavan rally iPad does what it likes!

Falmouth is lovely and St Ives then is just a few miles further. The Royal Duchy Hotel is fabulous in Falmouth, great service and food Cavan rally recommend it

We've had a drink in The Cobweb in Boscastle - what a lovely place. In Polruan (adjacent to Fowey) we used to visit The Headland Garden which is the garden of a privately owned house which the owner used to open up to the public one afternoon per week, charging a small entrance fee which she gave to charity. This garden is stunning. It meanders down the cliff top and the views of the estuary are spectacular. I'm not sure if the garden is still open as I believe the lady who owned it died last year.

I worked in Boscastle for a while and lived with someone who bought a little cottage overlooking the village. Unfortunately he dumped me #storyofmylife. Christmas in The Cobweb with everyone doing 'the broomstick dance' and the walk from the car park up to Minster Church. I ache to be there sometimes. Must revisit next year.

I stayed in St Agnes near Newquay this summer, beautiful village with bakery and restaurants, near a small beach which you can park by. Once again not much flat about it.

One of my favourite places in the whole world is Boscastle. I could sit for hours on the cliffs above the harbour watching the sun go down. Village can be busy in holiday times but the evenings on the cliffs are lovely and peaceful. Out of school holidays it should be fine. Not much in the way of flat walks though! I've stayed there twice in the youth hostel and once for a week in a cottage in the village. I've also been for a day trip when staying elsewhere. I just love the place.

Sennen Cove is lovely. Newlyn has lots going for it. Both close to Penzance for shopping. I'm not a walker so can't really comment on that but my sister in law who lives in that area walks a lot.

Is the wind farm still at Delabole? It was the first time I'd seen one.

The Rame Peninsula known as Cornwall's forgotten area. Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful and you have the nearby Whitsand Bay. Can't beat it, we've been going since before we got married 35 years.

PS it has all been filled in now Houses built on top.

My Uncle was the local volunteer Bobby. He used to stand up at the top of Pengelly near the Bettle and Chisel. Do parking duties in the summer.

I can actually picture where the station was in Delabole [or Dellabolly as some people seemed to call it]. I used to have to walk home from the pub in Boscastle to my flat in St Tudy via Delabole; sometimes the local policeman would give me a lift back, bless him.

I used to travel by train from Delabole to Wadebridge and Padstow. Absolutely beautiful, although didn't appreciate it as a child.

DD and hers bike ride the Camel Trail when they are down there. She too said it's very pretty.

Perranporth is great for fish and chips as well. And a great bookshop not far from the beach, if it`s still there?

Perranporth north cornwall Lots of parking Miles and miles of sand The town which is almost on the beach has plenty of eateries no hills to climb either unless you park on the cliff top car park.If going when schools are back you will have no problems with accomodation.Enjoy you won't regret going to Perranporth.

What about Wadebridge area, you could walk or cycle the camel trail, its fairly flat. The trail goes from Wadebridge to Padstow, a lovely walk with a pretty fishing village at the end. Or if you go the other way towards Bodmin its a good walk with a nice pub along the way. Wadebridge is a lovely little town and out of season is pretty quiet.

We have had many wonderful holidays in Padstow, the town is lovely, full of character, and some lovely beaches within easy reach.

Nowhere in Cornwall is flat,but everywhere is lovely, our favourite place over fifty years, is St Ives, many lovely beaches, a lovely harbour, nice walks, wonderful views, but very busy in the summer, would suggest leaving a visit until mid September or early Spring, St Ives is wonderful at any time of the year. Of course I am a St Ives addict! Enjoy no matter where you choose.

We often stay with beach retreats. The properties aren't bad and the added advantage for us is that they take dogs. Dogs allowed on Watergate. They also do properties near Rock and other areas. Worth a look.

We always stay at The White House, Watergate Bay which is near Newquay on the north Cornish coast. This can be booked through Beach Retreats who have amazing properties. The White House has 10 lovely apartments which are all different and of varying sizes and most have a sea view. The house is set back from the bay and there is a private path down to the road. It's very quiet and there is a pub, Watergate Bay hotel if you fancy a drink or I recommend the scones there. There's also the Beach House - a restaurant on the beach and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen which has an amazing view over the beach.
All around the area are beautiful walks and beaches, some not too hilly.
We use the apartment as a base and have days out to Eden, St Ives, Padstow and many more lovely places.
