Flybe flight within the UK - baggage allowance

Thank you all so much for these very helpful comments. I have just flown with easyJet - I think they are now allowing an extra handbag along with the onboard overhead locker bag, but I once had to find room in an already overfull bag for my handbag while in the queue for boarding. I'd like to avoid this again if possible! I do think they aren't always very clear themselves what the current rules are. Thanks again.

I fly regularly with Flybe and your inderstanding of carry on bags as per the website is corrrect Daisy. You are allowed two pieces of cabin baggage not exceeding 10kg added together. It is designed for people to carry laptops or handbags in addition to their main bag, but I often carry two equal size bags to balance the load. A word of warning .... their overhead bins are quite shallow so domed suitcases or puffed up backpacks don't fit easily. I fly on a Dash 8 from London City to UK airports.

I have just been on Flybe. 20kg hold luggage. However I was going to Shetland which tend to use the smaller turbojet planes as they cannot use proper Jets on the Shetland runway. The overhead lockers were very small on these planes though. This may be different on bigger planes.

I asked them about cabin luggage and this is the reply.
(Flybe seem to be affiliated with other airlines.) The size of the cabin baggage seemed to vary with each operator.
My 25l rucksack seemed to be quite acceptable to them, they just looked at it and said that is OK.
.
Thank you for your email regarding cabin baggage.

I can confirm that you will be able to bring a hand luggage, whose dimensions are 55 x 35 x 20 cm and weighing up to 10 kg, for your outbound and return connecting flight.

Stobart Air and Loganair carrier will honour ours and Blue Islands' size and weight restrictions. There will be no issues at the airport upon your arrival and our staff will be well aware and assist if needed.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
I hope this might help.

We recently flew Barra to Glasgow with Flybe. We had a small suitcase which went in the hold and cabin bag + handbag. Although DH was also travelling, all of these were checked in on my ticket.

I fly quite often with Flybe, and have always taken a small suitcase as hand luggage, that goes in the overhead lockers, plus my hand bag that goes on the floor under the seat in front. Never had any problems, enjoy your trip

I don't know about Flybe specifically Daisy but the usual thing is one carry-on bag plus a personal handbag, or a laptop bag.
I usually play safe and make sure there's enough space in my carry on bag to stuff my handbag in as well if necessary.
I think I'd be inclined to go by what it says on the website.

I'm getting contradictory advice about what's allowed as carry-on luggage. Travel agent's advice says only one bag; the Flybe website says one other bag beside cabin bag is allowed, as long as it will go under the seat in front. I'm travelling later this week, and would be grateful to hear from anyone who's recently flown with Flybe within the UK.
