Overnight stay close to Gatwick Airport ?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions - and with your input I feel much more confident in organizing my pre holiday stay.

I recently stayed at the Copthorne Effingham which is about 10/15 mins from the airport. I had a deal where I left the car at the hotel. Minibus to the airport and a taxi back which you call after retrieving the baggage. Not a small hotel but quiet in large grounds, comfortable and being solo I felt safe.

Sofitel at Gatwick, just a walk through a corridor and you are in the terminal. They take your car away now, back in the day they used to park it on site.
But, all rooms are soundproofed, so no noise at all.
And the beds are very comfy.

Book The Marriot you won't be disappointed its very quiet.

Prenier Inn Gatwick very quiet.

We’ve used holiday inn near Gatwick several times. You can use their parking facilities ( much cheaper that way).

I stay at The Marriot Courtyard which is within the airport complex - the windows must be triple-glazed because you can't hear the flights!

I think it best to stay within the airport perimeter then no worries about motorway traffic/road closures etc.

Travel lodge at Gatwick was fine for us last time we traveled through that airport
