A few years ago, we stayed in the Forest & Vale Hotel in Pickering which was delightful.

Near Leyburn in the Yorkshire Dales is the Wensleydale Heifer a small boutique Hotel with excellent food. Going up in scale is the Faversham Arms in Helmsley on the North Yorkshire Moors - absolutely fabulous!!!

Two lovely luxury hotels on Northumberland. Walwick Hall near Hexham, or Matfen Hall. Oh, and there's Slaley Hall too. The last two have golf courses.

Can anyone recomend a really nice luxury hotel in Yorkshire,Dorset Northumberland or the Cotswolds. Im not too bothered about spa facilities but would like somewhere with good service and nice little extra touches,
