I retired 26 years ago and was spending half of each year in NZ and the other half in California. I paid the round trip air fare for each of my now adult grand children to spend a month with me in New Zealand after graduating high school. They are now in their 30's and still talk about their trip. Too bad I can't do that for my five GREATS.

Aw, how nice! Good for you. Perhaps their parents will bring them as teens so they have good memories without you having to wait until they are 18!

What a lovely gesture. I am sure they will never forget the trip or you.

How nice for you to have been able to spend 6 months in New Zealand and 6 months in California. Best of both worlds.

I have seen neither of these places but always hear good things.

It must feel so good to have been able to make such happy memories for them.

No doubt great-grandchildren will have other ways of visiting Aotearoa if they wish - fares are so reasonable nowadays and budget backpacking is so exciting and interesting. One meets people from all over the world.

Maumaharatanga pai ki a koutou katoa. Great memories for you all. flowers
