Insurance for UK trip

Are you in the UK?
Assuming you are, check the small print regarding cancellations. I believe that some companies are now not offering much in the way of refunds unless you have taken out [their] 'insurance'.

I recently had a UK holiday and was offered cancellation insurance by the holiday provider. It was incredibly cheap as independent insurance covered things I didn’t need.

Don't go for the insurance offer by the holiday company. Shop around and you can usually get better cover for less money.

Check if your house insurance covers your belongings. I think the only one to consider is cancellation insurance as some holidays do not refund for cancellation.

Why would you? You have your car insured. You have the NHS if there's a medical problem.
I'm trying to think of something else that could go wrong.
But then I'm not one who thinks of 'what could go wrong'

Personally i don't take out travel insurance in the UK. I suppose with covid it might be more advisable.
