I’m looking for a luxury 5 star hotel in the Cotswolds as well! I’ll follow this post with interest.

Derbyshire is a huge county. Are you thinking of the Dales or the Peak District?
In the Peak District, there's a new luxury spa hotel in Buxton called the Buxton Crescent Hotel. It's a beautiful, new hotel with roof top swimming pool and Michellin rated restaurant in a conveniently situated small town that boasts Buxton Opera House, beautiful parkland, natural thermal waters and easy access to the White Peak.

It depends with both places whether you want town or country.

I really liked Buxton although we were staying in the country.

I see Cheltenham hotels are listed as Cotswolds although I wouldn't have thought that was in the Cotswolds myself.
