The thing is, the world is changing. Between covid and global warming, we can't fly off with impunity anymore. I'm an overseas teacher, grounded in the UK because of this. Life isn't going back to the old carefree, wasteful, polluting way it was before. At least, it isn't if we want there to be a liveable world for our grandchildren.
I agree with you, GagaJo, much as I’m going to miss our old ways. We’re very lucky in that we’ve done a lot of travelling in the past, but had already talked about cutting it back dramatically before Covid struck.
We’ve just had a lovely seaside break in England - not at all crowded or expensive. And in September we’re off on the train to London for a few days. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotels we looked at were much cheaper than pre-Covid, so we’re staying for four nights instead of the two we’d planned.
