Edinburgh, if that's not too close to home. Heaps to do and see.

I don’t want to be rude but I won’t be going to Warner’s again for a long time. When I stayed at Holme Lacey, apart from some of the bedrooms in desperate need of modernisation, the average age of the other guests was over 80! As I was 61 at the time, I found the entertainment and activities very geared up to that age group and on a wet day, every chair was taken, the cafe ran out of food at lunch time and my group of friends ended up eating a picnic in a bedroom!

We did a whole family weekend stay at Centre Parks for mine. It was great. A big lodge for most of us, and then the older generation stayed in the on-site hotel so they had peace and independence. We took turns to cater so everyone had time to relax as well.
Expensive, but plenty to do or lovely space to amble around too.
For just us - we love both Chichester and the Channel Islands, especially Guernsey. Sea, walks and culture at both.

More information - we like all sorts -have been on many European city breaks and NYC for 50th birthday and enjoyed them all. Husband loves the sea so a coastal break would also be good. Gentle walkers, but definitely not hikers, so also enjoy the countryside but not too remote or strenuous. I think we would want to do something during the day and then come home to nice food, wine and a roaring fire.

At Chewton Glen it’s a gentle walk through a nature reserve to the beach (very quiet) only a small restaurant on the hill overlooking the see.

Food is scrumptious

Try a Warner’s Holiday ? all inclusive at various U.K. locations, activities during the day and entertainment in the evenings.
The Nottingham one is good as is Holme Lacey in Herts, ( our favourite) we’ve been as a group, which may be a bit more enjoyable than just a couple, but you can dip in and out of doing things.
Personally I would go to the sea! But that’s because I live near Oxford which is pretty landlocked. However, Oxford is also a good place to wander around.

Hi, my husband is 60 in January and we would like to go away to celebrate for a few days. With overseas travel as it is we want to stay in the UK. Looking for suggestions for somewhere special to mark this milestone.
