Planned trip to Canada - required to provide a 'quarantine plan' - does anyone know what is considered suitable?

Hi, I'm planning a trip to Canada in September when the borders are (hopefully) open again; the government website says that I'll need a PCR test, and to upload details of my covid vaccinations - all of which I'm fine with - but it states that all visitors, including fully vaccinated ones, must have a quarantine plan in place. I've searched numerous sites, but can't find any information as to what will be considered acceptable, should border control ask for details -can you just hole up in the hotel you're staying in? Any help would be much appreciated.

My daughter and her family are hoping to go to Canada if they’re allowed to so I’ll ask her if she knows anything about this,

Stillwaters do you have a Canadian visa/passport. I would love to visit as I haven’t seen my son since before the pandemic. I gave up looking as I thought with the traffic light system it would never happen. I think I will be waiting a very long time before I meet gc in NZ though.

DillytheGardener - no, I don't- but the Canadian authorities have said that, all being well, they expect to open their borders to fully vaccinated tourists from 7th September.

Sadly, I agree with you about NZ.

I've just reread your post - if your son is a permanent resident, you may be able to travel now - have a look at this link- e-visa.co.uk/canada/news/exemptions-travel-ban/amp

Check to see if you qualify for the exemption.

What about unvaccinated children?

I keep reading that even if you are exempt (I am), that you still need a quarantine plan ?

Depends on the age - this might help you travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada
