Space Travel - anyone fancy a trip?

NO, what an ecological disaster in so many ways.

Our own planet is being destroyed and then billions and billions are spent on this

No no no not impressed or interested we messed one planet up, what now off to mess the next one up

I don't have much time for Bezos's vanity project.

But please, please don't tar all space flight with the same brush.

We're not off looking for other planets to destroy, we're trying to save this one.

Its like Groundhog Day here sometimes.

Our earth is ruined so why start on polluting space as well ?

Apollo 11 landing on the Moon and man then walking on it remains one of my greatest memories. I was still at school but stayed up all night with my older brother to watch that amazing event.
I don’t think we’re the only sentient beings there are, and am honestly envious that some day others may make contact with Earth and I won’t be around to see it. I do not believe in the thousands of alleged UFO sightings, I think they’re the results of wishful thinking, alcohol, drugs, mental ill-health, etc.
Like Alegrias I don’t appreciate the vanity of Bezos, but there have been thousands of worthwhile spin-off inventions from space travel.

Space is so so polluted now already- a disaster in the making.

We do not need to look for solutions out there- they are right here under our nose, and that is where all the innovation and funding should be.

How are you going to replicate microgravity on the earth's surface? Carry out satellite imaging of the oceans? Track the growth and shrinkage of animal populations? I have a long list.

So many closed minds so far on this thread aren’t there ? I would also like to take world leaders into space to look back at the planet and see the beauty and fragility for themselves - might induce a rethink on a few things !!

OP asked if anyone fancied a Space Travel trip, I replied ‘no’.

Lots of places I have no desire to travel to, not just space, but doesn’t mean I have a closed mind.

And there they are complaining about space being polluted yet using a device that’s using a satellite that enables them to use it ? couldn’t make it up, could you?
