Observed COVID test for travel to USA

Yes my daughter did this before travelling to New York a couple of weeks ago. They had someone watching them take a test and observing the results through Zoom I believe. Was quite strange!

My family flew to New York today from Heathrow. Yesterday they had Covid tests at Heathrow and the results came through an hour later if that is any help.
