Anyone been to New Zealand recently?

I'd be interested to know if any Gransnetters have been to NZ since the end of lockdown. If so, could they give a rough idea of how much (basic) meals out, petrol etc cost. Just thinking about a fly drive and wondering if it's affordable. Also, is travel insurance to NZ very high for over 70s, one with minor medical issues, and the other with a few more medical issues, though nothing too serious at the moment? I know that insurance for many American countries is prohibitive. Any advice would be welcome.
