We are considering a road trip to this beautiful area. Having recently moved to Scotland we are trying to explore as many places as we can, while we can!
Any ideas/recommendations/suggestions gratefully received.

Glenluce Abbey is nice. Logan Botanic Garden is very cool, and so is the story of how (and why) the community at Portpatrick bought back their harbour www.portpatrickharbour.org/about-us

This! My daughter and SIL were there last week.

What about a visit to Wigton?
Wigtown - Scotland's National Book Town - is home to seventeen bookshops and book-related businesses. Open all year round, they offer a haven for readers and writers.

Marydoll and Siope - I'm so very sorry I didn't respond to your suggestions. For some reason I didn't see your replies.... until just now! But we have at last made plans to drive to that area in a few weeks and will definitely explore the spots you mention. We are staying near Glenluce. A belated thank you!
