Accidental visit to Washington DC

My sister-in-law is getting to a lovely Amercian guy in October and my wife has insisted that we go to the wedding in Virginia. We are flying into DC and will be picked up for a stay in the small town where the wedding is to take place. We have 4 days in DC just before the US Election. Can anyone recommend a budget hotel in the DC area for 4 days at the start of November.

I suppose it depends on your idea of "budget".

I don't know DC but others may have a better idea.

I do know, from my son, that there are lots of districts/diverse areas - and some are better if you don't have a car.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in March, very pleasant and walking distance to a wonderful Space Museum
