BReak in south east England

Just checked and all well under or on the hour but you will probably know them already.

We used to stay in the Hilton at Arundel but think it was a short drive into the town. There will be central hotels in town if you google.
As you are only looking at somewhere an hour away you woukd know best where to choose. We drove through Hampshire yesterday on our way back from the West Country, stopping briefly in Marlborough and Salisbury,both nice, or how about Winchester? Havnt checked distance as up to my eyes in washing…..hope you find somewhere nice,

You have the bird sanctuary, walks by swanbourne lake, the castle and gardens, nice independent shops, places to eat, a lido. A station for trips to the coast. Walking by the river. The cathedral. Just sitting watching the world go by with an ice cream🙂

Not sure how long from Alton though.
