We’re heading to Malta in the autumn and I’m just wondering if anyone knows if it’s easy to be catered for in cafés, restaurants etc, if you need gluten free food? I’m quite happy to take my usual ‘emergency supplies’ of bread and biscuits as backup if need be! Thank you for any pearls of wisdom that you can offer!

Squiffy, sadly can't advise but wanted to follow up your post. Hopefully someone will have experience of this.
If not your plan to take your own gluten free provisions. Good luck , fingers crossed someone can help you.

Thank you, Shelflife! Yes, I usually take my Emergency Bread Roll with me when we go out to eat!

I watched a YouTube feature on Malta recently. It was made by a young couple on holiday there and the girl was a coeliac. She was tucking into a gluten free pizza in one shot and said she had no problems in most restaurants. They didn't shop for food so I'm not sure what the gf fair is like in stores.

Thank you flappergirl, that sounds promising!

Thank you Grandmabatty. I was cheeky enough to pm her a few days ago, but I haven’t heard back. I hope I haven’t upset her.

Hi there. I live in Malta (well Gozo) and there are plenty of gluten free options in restaurants and supermarkets.

abitlatetotheparty. We’re in Valletta for 5 days next week. So looking forward to it. We’ll be visiting Gozo.
