Malta - again!

Incidentally, Bellasnana has lived in Malta for many years, so maybe she would be happy to recommend an hotel.

We’re going in October too Anna7, just for four nights, and staying in an Airbnb in the centre of Valletta. I was there last year in May with my daughter in law and granddaughter, and thought my OH would love it, as we did. Yes, it is hilly, but there are many forms of transport and the taxis are cheap, so it would be a pity if you didn’t go.

It really does depend on what your DH can manage. I loved Valletta . Have a look at this site as there's some pics.

I was thinking of going for a week but I am starting to think it may not be a good idea if it's so hilly, given dhs mobility problems. He's not too bad but his balance is a bit off and he gets tired easily. The joys of getting older! It's a pity because he would love the history.

Just a word of warning, Malta is very hilly, Valletta especially so and the traffic is very heavy. We travelled around by bus but central Valletta is basically two very long streets which go from the sea up to the gun battery, it is quite steep. The ferry to Gozo is fairly cheap, comfortable and easy to access but we were disappointed in Gozo having booked two nights there, I wish we'd not bothered. I don't know how long you were thinking of going but I think four days is long enough to see the best historical sites. We enjoyed the three cities, boat from Valletta was enjoyable and you get some great views but again very hilly.

There are a lot of smaller hotels, it really depends what part of the Island you are interested in.
The history is so interesting and there are some lovely places to visit.

Yes, ferry to Gozo. We spent a day there out of a holiday in Malta. Everybody kept telling us to go to Gozo as it is supposed to be much nicer than Malta. We didn’t think so.

Valletta is beautiful and the history of Malta is interesting.
