We are here at the moment. Has to be one of the loveliest places on earth but so remote from anywhere and a bit of a pain getting here. Actually saw a couple of dugongs with babies really close up to the yacht we were on. Humbled and delighted, they are pretty rare creatures. What a wonderful world we live in 🥰

I’ve been there, when my daughter was four. I’ve got a lovely picture of her standing in the sea feeding the wild dolphins - not sure if they still allow that to happen, it was 30 years ago. It’s very beautiful and wild, we saw the dugongs too, and an enormous giant sea turtle and sea eagles. Unforgettable.

I was there about 23 years ago. I remember getting up early and wandering down to the beach to find one of the dolphins frolicking just offshore. We took part in the feeding, and they had to keep the pelicans at bay to stop them from nicking the dolphins' food. Went on a catamaran and saw an adult dugong. It was a magical place and great memories.

We stayed on a camp site in Monkey Mia, I remember the dolphins. We traveled to Australia for my 70th birthday hiring a campervan for 3 months, great trip.
