I am only away for a week and go back next Tuesday to what I have heard typically cold winter days.
While today I was out in a boat to see dolphins, just right in this intense heat

Well I was meant to go away this weekend but had to cancel because of the weather. We've booked somewhere for next weekend so fingers crossed.
Intense heat, Cath9? You must be somewhere where most of us on here would probably like to be?

Cant go anywhere due to DH being on chemo again. I do enjoy hearing about folks trips away though.

I love my home too much to consider it 'lucky' to be away. So, no, I am lucky enough to be at home.

Agreed kitty.I feel lucky to be enjoying my home comforts and have no desire to be away.

Due to my husband having mobility issues etc, I don’t even want to go away as it is no holiday for me.

Agreed, and yet. Surely it is possible to love both.

I absolutely love planning a holiday and going away, discover new places, faces and culture, nature and more.

And then I absolutely love coming home. Win win.

We've just returned yesterday from a 14 night cruise in the Canary Islands.
It was for my 80th birthday and Fred Olsen were wonderful, champagne breakfast on my day, the company presented me with a birthday cake in the evening, we had a complimentary photograph and high tea. The fine dining meals in the restaurant were second to none.
The people on board were very friendly and it was a great birthday holiday with brilliant weather. What more can you ask.

I’m going away next month. The older I become the harder it is. I’m panicking already. I’ll be ok once I get going but right now, I’d rather stay in my comfort zone 🙄

We are off to Madeira on the 16th December. Same hotel as last year.
The weather and company were great. Looking forward to it.
