Has anyone been on a Celebrity Cruise?
If so I would very much like your review as what I have read is not that pleasing

I love Celebrity cruises. I’ve been on four, I think. Celebrity is a very nice cruise line, good food, beautiful ships, very few children, and we’ve met some lovely people on Celebrity cruises. There are quite a lot of Americans, but there are many other nationalities too. It’s good to meet people from around the world, well I think it is anyway.

Definitely recommended.

Just back from a Celebrity cruise. The first one was seven years ago, and we felt things had really gone downhill. Food in the dining room was mediocre, very few speciality restaurants and they are very expensive. The worst thing was the bill for £456 for tips at the end of the cruise. You are also charged 20% on top of each drink you order! Poor show and we wont be booking again. Marella is better value, but my favourite is Seabourn….if you want to really treat yourselves!

I’ve never had a bad experience on a Celebrity cruise. We’ve had drinks packages included, so didn’t pay an extra 20%, but I appreciate that is a lot if you’re doing pay as you go on drinks (which we have done quite often on cruise ships.) I’ve always enjoyed the food on Celebrity, and also on Holland America. We did one MSC cruise and the food was okay, but not good. Our last cruise was on SilverSea and the food was lovely.

Definitely older cruisers on the Infinity. Average age 60-80 I would say.

We did an Alaskan cruise on the C Solstice a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the whole experience. Plenty of spaces to get away from folk if that's what you want but also activities / bars etc for when you're feeling more sociable. Do some research on the ships themselves. We're doing a NZ cruise in a few weeks on the C Edge. A bit of a niggle is that we booked what we thought was a balcony and the "Infinite Veranda" is not like a traditional balcony. It's a full length window where the top half can drop down. We've bought the Classic Drinks package but the emails about upgrading to the Premier package are constant. Not at all keen on the tipping but this seems to be standard on most cruises with the exception of Marella. Marella are excellent around all areas of Europe and the Caribbean but we've had to go with another cruise line for the more far flung destinations. We did a two week cruise around the Greek Islands and the Adriatic last year with Marella and have done many other Med cruises with them. Very relaxed and friendly. Celebrity ships will usually be bigger and with more facilities. It really depends on where you want to go. I'd book them again if I wanted a particular cruise destination.
