We visited Australia a few years back. Foolishly, we didn’t check about visas until it was nearly time to go. It was a mad rush to get it processed so leave plenty of time would be my advice. Not a mistake we will make again.

I don't know anything about the visas - but you should make sure that you have a letter/letters signed by both parents giving you permission to take them out of the country.

Can I suggest that you phone Australia House and talk to someone in person.

They do have people who will deal with your sort of query and you can be sure you have the correct advice.

Advice needed re visa required for taking grandchildren to Australia for holiday without parents

Aussiegranny Wed 16-Apr-25 06:49:28

I am taking my grandsons..age 11 and 13 ..from Scotland to Australia for a holiday and visit family without their parents. I have been granted the visa 651.evisitor but I am wondering if this is the correct one. I know I need a letter of consent from the parents but do I need any other documents. I find the Immigration site quite confusing.
Any advice welcome . Thanks!!
