Speaking from bitter experience, directors' chairs may not particularly stable on uneven ground.

No, they're not, I've seen someone go backwards when he sat in one!

Thanks Oreo will look at directors chairs.

Don't tell Oreo but I'm not keen on ours. They are unstable unless on flat ground and the bar digs into the back of my thighs unless I use a cushion.

I shall share this with Mr.I.

He is yet to be convinced of these benefits.

I did a Google search and found
Dual lock kijaro. A high seat, lightweight and they say they're comfortable. I think they cost about £40.
If possible, try a camping shop and try plenty!

Jaxjacky - did you just find these for me or do you have one?

I had discounted them because they seat is apparently only 14" high. They might otherwise be OK though (or the sizing on Amazon is suspect).

If you do have them are they a bit low?

I don’t know about sand, but these are stable and pretty high.

Canvas Director chair? Usually pretty comfy and lightweight and fold easily.

Do you have (or know of) a comfortable folding type "garden: chair that is stable on sand and quite "high" please?
I used to love the low ones but with a bad hip I'm sure I'd struggle.

It needs to be pretty lightweight as it will be lugged about.

Ideas (makes) please.. 🙏
