Flying to NYC December 2025

Has anyone flown Premium Delight with VIRGIN or DELTA.?

I was 5’5..but now have lost height due to stenosis & /left side scoliosis measure 5’3 .am overweight so that’s another cause to find out seat space ..

Average height for UK males at 5.9 ins so 5.10 is not short. Im 5.8 ins in flat shoes (female) so taller than average.

Perhaps think to leg room, ignore my husband height?

He has plenty of room, with back problems, easy seat upgrade.

my nephews are 6'2/3

am still ? the seat size/leg room for height 5'10+

Thank u all …haven’t flown anywhere since 2019 and very anxious about the trip in general and will require airport assistance..

Virgin now offer 5 seat prices…I do need a flat seat for my lumbar/stenosis issues

Will check out BA sale prices… need a direct flight as couldn’t cope with a stop anywhere now…

If you must have a flat seat I believe you'll pay nearly £3,000.

My husband is 5'10, very short, has back problems, extra leg room suits him well. Perhaps ask the Airline for the measurements and use chairs, at home to work out if a simple upgrade would suit.

Working out simple upgrades is easy on the Airline price site.

I think if you need to be flat you must budget £3,000ish.

I’ve also found Premium Economy to be ok. Nothing like Club class but nothing like as expensive either.

We’ve flown Virgin Upper Class and BA business to NYC

Virgin seats are more private both beds are flat, seems like an excellent price for December.

I normal fly Premier Economy to NYC on BA and Virgin . I have had both hips and a knee replacement, so I did struggled at times, but was OK in Prem Ecc class. The flight time is about 7-8 hours, I'm about 5'4""so this was OK for me, DH 6'2" he gets back problems but always OK.

That’s what I’d expect to pay for Business Class to NY. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that’s not a bad price.

It’s worth going to a local travel agent, as they may have access to flights that aren’t on the web. We got decent flights to the US last year via an agent.

Also, if you have Air Miles you can sometimes use those towards costs.

BA Club World (aka Business Class) are flat seats. But I would expect to pay 2500 - 3000 to NYC.

The only way you could reduce that cost is to take an indirect flight which means a stop - and this would mean flying to somewhere in Europe (eg Lisbon) and then transiting from there to NYC. This would add hours to your journey time and you would have to check that the short haul part of the flight has not only a business class, but that there are flat seats. I think this would be unlikely as flat beds are usually on long hauls.

I would look at a flight comprison sight such as Skyscanner.
