Just booked myself from Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh for a couple of nights in a little B&B I’ve had my eye on for ages. Supposed to be dry tomorrow morning but turning wet by lunchtime, typical November! I’m packing the lightweight folding walking stick that lives in my suitcase now, absolute godsend for cobbled streets and the odd hill when my back starts grumbling.

Does anyone else refuse to let a dodgy lower back spoil a perfectly good wander? I’m determined to keep pottering about as long as my legs will carry me. Any Cotswolds tips gratefully received, especially tearooms with decent cake and not too many steps.

Bon voyage, Carol. I'm sure that you will have a lovely time, and return home refreshed with a lighter purse and a heavier tummy !

Oh what a coincidence, so are we! to stay with friends near Stow on the Wold for a couple of days, we've been many times, especially in winter, pre Christmas. The small towns and villages are so pretty this time of the year. I haven't actually been to Moreton-in-the Marsh, We've tended to visit Broadway/Bourton-on-the-Water/Chiping Campden when we're there, but they're all lovely these Cotswold places and Moreton in the Marsh I've heard is very pretty, one of the few with a train station I believe. I imagine there will be tea shops- a -plenty for a nice cuppa with cake. I wish you a very enjoyable stay CarolDean and hope you manage to get in a walk too, which we also hope to do, weather dependent.
